Reduces costs as compared to conventional bypass surgery.
No blood transfusion required in most cases.
Reduced days of hospitalization and quick recovery.
Applicable in cases where other associated diseases make conventional bypass surgery hazardous. e.g. Chronic renal failure, cerebro vascular disease (stroke), severe diabetes etc.
The first M.I.C.A.S. surgery was done in April 1998. The Institute was the first in Poona to perform this procedure and continues along with many other hospitals in the country doing this procedure.
